Thursday August 25th. Both Mid Wilts league lost their final game of the season. The A team having struggled all summer and this last game was no different, just not good enough to stay in the top division. (note to Fixture Secretaries) best to make late games start at 6pm as we played our last two end in complete darkness, The B-Boys on the other hand have had a good season and for much of the time were in contention for promotion "well done to them" I like some others think that this competition has lost some of it's magic and has lacks some of the vision it was originally set up with. "but that's progress I suppose" .

Monday August 8th. Online Huddle!! Good communication is vital to all organisations, so here we go. There are two prestigious winter events that involve providing three course meals. Presentation Evening & Christmas Lunch. The cost to the club this year has risen by £1.50 pp. If we take into account increased VAT and extra cost's such as heating, lighting, kitchen, and supplying napkins then charging £12.50 would in fact cause us to make a small loss. It has therefore been decided to raise the price this year to £15.00 pp. for both events in order to restore the margin to that of previous years. We do however believe that £15.00 represents extremely good value for a three couse meal.
Monday August 8th. Club Management are in the process of applying to the local authority for permission to prune and cut back certain Trees and Bushes within our boundary. We are also looking to tidy up the car park entrance and erect a new Welcome Board. In September the Management Committee will spend time considering how we as a club will manage our GREENS, ongoing. If you have any constructive contribution to make towards this discussion please write to the Club Secretary, Graeme Shaw, care of the club. In October the Committee will look at a maintainence plan for the premises, again if you think you are in a position to assist this process please write in.

I have booked an indoor bowls holiday at the Torak hotel in Torquay for five nights commencing Sunday March 18th. 2012. The cost per person including bowling and VAT is £220.00 per person. If you would like to book a place, please contact me no later than May 31st. There are a limited number of single rooms available. I have also registered interest with Warners with a view to arranging a post season indoor bowls break in September 2012. I am awaiting news from them as to whether there is any availability as these breaks are extremely popular.
