Bowls Wiltshire Ladies this weekend have probably had their best weekend in history.
On Saturday they travelled to the Cotswold BC in Stroud to take on Somerset in the West Regional Final and with only two ends to play (one end on two rinks) the match was tied. Alex Jacob with her last bowl drew shot to put Wiltshire one up, but on the other rink Alison Fail had her last bowl to save the match going into an extra end as her rink was one down. However, Alison held her nerve to draw shot and give Wiltshire a two shot win and qualify for the BW Finals at Royal Leamington Spa on the 3rd of August.
Today, Sunday, they played in the Regional Finals of the Walker Cup at Box BC. This morning they beat Worcestershire 36 – 29 and in this afternoons final they beat Warwickshire 41 – 36 so for the first time BW Ladies have reached the National Finals at Leamington on the 18th of August.
Congratulation to all those involved.
