Michael David Ponting

Born Victoria Hospital Woking, Surrey 28th. August 1946

Earliest Memory - At birth noticed how very bright it was and wanted dark glasses.

Primary Education - New Haw County Primary School. Nr. Weybridge, Surrey. - Memory was that I had to stay in at playtime and play with plasticine.

Blatchington Court School for the Blind & Partially sighted - Seaford, East Sussex. - Memory - Having cheated in a cross country run by taking a shortcut and arriving back first. I asked the teacher if I could go and work on a tree top rope bridge, needless to say I fell and broke my left arm in two places.

First Job - Sent to industrial reabilitation center, put to work in the gardens (note I'm completely colour blind) ended up pulling up all the lovely flowers and leaving all the weeds.

Other Jobs - One year with J. Jarman Ltd. (tobacco & confectioners) of Weybridge, Surrey., One week with International Stores, A few months with Victor Value Supermarkets, A couple of years with H.F. Luxford & Sons (Furniture Removers) where I did too much damage, Payroll clerk, Junior Reporter (Sunday Times Sports Desk) fell out with the father of the chapel, Bank Courier (Walking around London with Bonds worth millions) and finally 37 years as a Supermarket Trolley Boy.

Favourite Food - Anything fattening.

Food I hate - Anything low calorie

Favourite Person - Goldie  Hawn

Favourite Music - Rhythm & Blues

Pet Hates - Daddy Longlegs.

Hobbies - Used to be women, now Music, Computers and Eating.

In the next life I would like to be - Fully Sighted.

People I admire - Anyone who can carry on bowling when the heavens have opened, and doesn't  get Pneumonia.

People I feel sorry for.- Anyone who can carry on bowling when the heavens have opened and gets Pnuemonia.

Dying Wish - To be cooked on a slow gas.
