On Monday 24th July Devizes Demons ladies faced a home game against Bath Romans.
On one rink the team of Sue Long, Mary Jones and Ellen Stiles won 15-10 and on the second rink Patricia Reeves, Josie Mulligan and Joyce Little won 30-6 resulting in a convincing overall aggregate score of 45-16 and league points of 6-0. An excellent result all round so well done all.

On Tuesday 18th July Devizes Demons ladies competed in a local derby against the ladies for team Alpha.
On one rink the team of Sue Long, Josie Mulligan and Les Russell lost 15-20 however on the second rink Patricia Reeves, Ellen Stiles and Joyce Little finished with a win of 20-11 giving an overall result 35-31 to Demons ahead by just 4 points and league points of 4 to 2

Devizes Alpha ladies lost to Devizes Demons ladies by 4 shots and 4 points to 2 on the evening of Tuesday 18th July.
Rose Merritt, Bev Lilley and Sheila Garlick won by 20 shots to 15 whilst on the other rink Marie Greenwood, Wendy Gaisford and Marguerite Alexander struggled on a tricky green and lost 11-20.
Well done ladies another 2 points to add to our total.

Alpha ladies gained another good win, this time against North Wilts Devils on Friday evening the 14th July.
On one rink Denise Howard, Rose Merritt and Bev Lilley won 26-13 whilst on the second rink Angela Roberts, Wendy Gaisford and Marguerite Alexander won 16-12 a total of 42 shots to Devizes and 25 to North Wilts giving a 6 point to nil win.
Next match is against our other ladies team Devizes Demons.

Devizes Demons Ladies travelled to Melksham to face Spencer Melksham Smarties on 14th July but it was not a happy trip returning home having lost by 39 shots to 20.
On rink one, a below form team of Sue Long, Les Russell and Ellen Stiles lost 7-24 whilst on the second rink the match was closer with Spencers taking it by 15 shots to 13.

Alpha ladies played an away game at Chippenham Town where a tough battle was anticipated but the team came home on top of the world having won against Chippenham Town Griffins by 47 shots to 23, a winning margin greater that the opposition score.
Wendy Gaisford, Rose Merritt and Marie Greenwood won by 25 shots to 9 whilst on the second rink Sheila Garlick, Bev Lilley and Denise Howard won by 22 shots to 14. Bringing home a well deserved full quota of 6 league points

Alpha ladies came away from Melksham with 2 points losing to Avon Novas by 4 points to 2 and by only 5 shots.
Angela Roberts, Bev Lilley and Sheila Garlick lost 19-9 whilst Marie Greenwood, Rose Merritt and Marguerite Alexander couldn’t quite make up the deficit winning 15 – 10

Last Thursday, 29th June, Devizes Demons ladies team in division one of the Nor-West Triples league travelled to Box for their next league game but returned home disappointed.
On one rink the triple of Sue Long, Ellen Stiles and Les Russell almost snatched a point only losing by one shot at 14-15. However the other triple of Joyce Little, Rosemary Bradbury and Patricia Reeves had a bad day at the office losing by 13 shots to 42. presenting Box with a six points win.

Devizes Alpha Ladies gained a welcome 6 points with a home win against Avon Nova Ladies on Friday evening 23rd June. The triple of Denise Howard, Bev Lilley and Sheila Garlick won 18-14 and the second triple of Marie Greenwood, Wendy Gaisford and Marguerite Alexander won 19-15 giving a total score of 37 shots to 29, an 8 shot advantage on the aggregate score. Well done ladies

On the 6th June Demons visited Trowbridge Town and came back with mixed fortunes having won on one rink but lost on the other.
Mary Jones, Sue Long and Joyce Little won 20-11 on their rink whilst Josie Mulligan, Rosemary Bradbury and Patricia Reeves finished with a small loss of 18-21. Total score therefore was 38-32 giving Demons the aggregate and therefore league points of 4-2.
Next week the team travel to Box and then the week after Box come to Devizes so all players will be well aware of each other skills by then which should make for interesting results.
